Mosquito Lagoon - Fort Pierce and Vero FIshing Guide - Captain Charles Jones
Hello, my name is Captain Charlie Jones. I have been fishing all over the state of Florida for over 45 years. It is my passion. I have caught Snook and Redfish in the 10,000 Islands, Sanibel Island area and Fort Pierce. Tarpon in the Florida Keys and Charlotte Harbor. Giant Speckled Trout, in the Indian River and Permit on the beach to mention only a few. Nothing excites me more than seeing Redfish at sunrise with their tails glistening out of the water. The best place in Florida to experience this is in the Mosquito Lagoon. This is such a unique and beautiful estuary, with lots of waterfowl both migrating and native. Any given day we may see ducks, egrets, Great Blue Heron and White Herons, Pink Spoonbills, Pelicans and Sea Gulls. Manatees and porpoises are plentiful. There is no tidal flow in the lagoon since it is located such a long distance both north and south from ocean inlets. Because of this, giant Redfish spawn in the lagoon and North Indian River and spend their entire lives here.

Come spend a day with me on my specially designed Flats Skiff. We will fish in less than 12 inches of water at times and sight cast at feeding Redfish. What a thrill to see a big Redfish take your bait and burn the 10lb test line off your spinning reel. I will supply everything you need for an enjoyable trip. Including all tackle, rods and reels, bait and lures, a digital camera and a cooler full of ice and water. You will not need a fishing license, as my Captains License will cover everyone in the boat. You should bring comfortable clothing, polarized sun glasses, a hat, sunscreen, your drinks and lunch and your camera.

If you are going to be in the Orlando area for business or vacation, give me a call. We can set up a trip to remember. Using light tackle in shallow water, it compares to bone fishing in the Bahamas and Florida Keys. What a rush.
